The first betting markets for Perth?s Group One Railway Stakes have been opened with Gold Salute as the favourite at $5.00.
The Mark Riley-trained gelding made it to first place on the ladder after placing second in the Toorak Handicap and finishing third behind All American in the Emirates Stakes.
Ortensia is listed as second favourite with TAB Sportsbet at $7.50 while Vigor is at $9.00 after finishing seventh in the Emirates Stakes.
All American is up at $10.00 along with Sniper?s Bullet and Grand Nirvana.
The Winterbottom Stakes is held one week later and sprinting extraordinaire Apache Cat is the current favourite at $3.40 followed by Ortensia at $5 and David Hayes? stallion Nicconi is a good chance at $6.00.
Unbeaten Perth locals Hay list and Waratah?s Secret are at $6.50 and $8.00 respectively.
A further week and the Group One Kingston Town Classic will be held at Ascot and Scenic Shot is the current favourite at $4.60.
Vigor is at $7.00 ahead of Orentsia, Snipers Bullet and Megatic which are all at $9.00.
While there are a few punters starting to bet on the Railway Stakes and the Kingstown Town Classic, the best backed race is currently the Winterbottom Stakes with Hay List receiving the most money.
