Drunken Sailor Third Horse Scratched from 2010 Caulfield Cup Field

European raider Drunken Sailor has become the third horse scratched from tomorrow’s $2.5 million Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) this morning.

The Luca Cumani-trained Drunken Sailor was the third emergency for the 2010 Caulfield Cup drawn in barrier four, but will miss the handicap feature due to a hoof injury.

The first two emergencies in the Caulfield Cup field have already gained a start due to the earlier scratching of Master O’Reilly and Zabrasive, with Mourayan and Red Ruler bought into contention.

This leaves just one last emergency for Saturday’s showdown with Tony Vasil’s mare Valdemoro.

Cumani will still be represented in the 2010 Caulfield Cup with his classy five-year-old Manighar jumping from barrier three with Damien Oliver aboard.

Manighar advantages from the soft ground and has definite claims, currently paying $10 through [sportsbet] to win.
