2010 G.A. Towton Cup Field & Barrier Draw

Ascot Racecourse will come alive this Saturday, December 4, as a cracker Perth Summer Racing Carnival meeting takes place with three black-type features highlighting the card including the $80,000 Listed G.A. Towton Cup (2200m).

The 2010 G.A. Towton Cup final field has attracted nine runners following the withdrawal of early entries. Gondorff and Sir Don.

Likely to open the favourite in the G.A. Towton Cup odds is Aquinas, the Bernie Miller-trained Blackfriars seven-year-old coming off a good win in the Tattersall’s Cup (2100m) at Ascot on November 20.

Aquinas is well-weighted with 54kg and has come up trumps in the G.A. Towton Cup barrier draw with gate one.

Tattersall’s Cup second and third placegetters Brandy Lane and Guyno are also backing up in the G.A. Towton Cup on Saturday.

Ray Saw’s five-year-old Marooned gelding Brandy Lane is due to jump from the ideal barrier two, while top-weighted entry with 57kg, the Lou Luciani-trained Guyno has drawn barrier eight.

Other notable horses entered for this year’s G.A. Towton Cup include Brett Wilkinson’s in-form six-year-old Chin Chin and Kalgoorlie Cup runner-up Telexden.

The odds for 2010 G.A. Towton Cup will be released later in the week and to be the first to view the race form guide and betting tips, bookmark us here at Races.com.au.
