The shortest-priced Golden Slipper fancy in the 2011 Magic Night Stakes final field, Pane In The Glass will fight it out against a quality line-up of two-year-old fillies at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday vying for the Golden Slipper ballot exemption a win in the Magic Night Stakes has on offer.
The $175,000 Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) is one of the nine exciting races on the Rosehill Guineas Day card this Saturday and has drawn a final field of 14 acceptors.
The John Thompson-trained Pane In The Glass is the top-rated chance in the betting markets for the 2011 Golden Slipper Stakes paying $26 through Luxbet to win the $3.5 million juveniles feature on Saturday April 2.
Drawn ideally in barrier three for Saturday, the daughter of Testa Rossa took out the Inglis Nursery / Inglis Classic double earlier in her career before finishing third to Shared Reflections in the Group 3 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) last start at Warwick Farm on March 12.
Her restricted wins in the Inglis features, however, don’t count towards qualified prize money for the Golden Slipper meaning Pane In The Glass is still not guaranteed a spot in the Slipper field sitting 21st on the latest Golden Slipper order of entry.
Pane In The Glass is sure to open at the top of the Magic Night Stakes odds when betting opens at Luxbet after her most notable threat, Aerobatics, suffered a blow with a wide barrier 12 draw for Saturday.
Sitting one below Pane In The Glass in the Golden Slipper odds at Luxbet paying $31 and 22nd on the order of entry, Peter Snowden’s Exceed And Excel filly Aerobatics is coming off a fifth place finish in the Sweet Embrace Stakes.
Premier trainer Snowden, whose impressive colt Sepoy is the pronounced favourite to win the Golden Slipper this year, has also paid up for Altar and Disputes in the Magic Night Stakes.
Disputes is set to jump from gate five while Altar has drawn barrier seven, the pair both roughies in the Golden Slipper markets paying $101 and $151 respectively.
Commands filly Altar made their race debut at Flemington on March 12 when finishing a close third to Triple Asset in the Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m) beaten less than half a length after jumping from gate seven.
Other Notable 2011 Magic Night Stakes Runners Include:
