The 2014 Group 3 Schweppervescence Trophy (1600m) will feature just eight runners after exciting Frances Tressady Stakes winner Five All was removed from the final field to chase other events in approaching weeks.
Having received strong support from punters prior to the scratching, the absence of Five All has now blown 2014 Schweppervescence Trophy betting wide open, with five of the remaining entrants now offered at a quote of less-than $10.
Text’n Hurley has returned the track in peak form this preparation, and is currently featuring as $3.40 favourite and undoubted market mover for the 2014 Schweppervescence Trophy ahead of Bonaria ($3.50), Hi Belle ($6) and Are There Any ($7.50).
Will Text’n Hurley make the most of the ideal barrier 2, or will Bonaria continue on her winning ways and claim the 2014 Schweppervescence Trophy?
1st
Bonaria ($3.50)
Bonaria followed up a competitive third in the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) first-up with an easy win over Hazard and Hi Belle in the Group 3 Mannerism Stakes (1400m) most recently, and lines up for the Schweppervescence Trophy in strong form. Having drawn barrier 3 for this weekend’s Group 3 at Flemington, Bonaria will be particularly hard to beat with usual partner Michael Rodd on board.
2nd
Are There Any ($7.50)
At a quote of $7.50 ($2.35 for a place) Are There Any arguably offers punters the best value for money in the 2014 Schweppervescence Trophy field. Having scored two wins and two places from only five starts in her current preparation, trainer Peter Moody is particularly confident the talented Exceed And Excel filly will perform to a high standard this weekend after drawing the inside barrier.
3rd
Text’n Hurley ($3.40)
Impressive four-year-old Text’n Hurley has secured four wins and four places in only ten starts since debuting on track in May 2013, and has been in particularly fine touch in four starts this preparation. Trainer Colin Little has outlined the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1500m) in April as the major target for the Hard Spun mare this season, and is confident of success in the 2014 Schweppervescence Trophy from barrier 2.
