The 2014 Eliza Park International Stakes is the closing race of Cox Plate Day, running as Race 9 at 6:20pm (AEDT).

Suavito opened as favourite in the Eliza Park International Stakes betting market, offering odds of $3.20 at Ladbrokes.com.au following a successful spring season. However there are three other runners offering short single figure odds – Tango’s Daughter ($5), Ava’s Delight ($6), and Gypsy Diamond who has drifted from $7 to $8.

Gypsy Diamond has scored the inside run after drawing barrier one but will carry the topweight of 59kg, which is up to five kilos more than her rivals. She has also failed to make an impression this season, finishing midfield at best in all four of her runs.

Our 2014 Eliza Park International Stakes trifecta tip is #6 Ava's Delight from #2 Tango's Daughter and #4 Suavito.
Will Suavito justify her favouritism and win the 2014 Eliza Parks International Stakes? Or will one of her in-form rivals pass the post first? Read on to see our betting tips and selections for the race, giving you a better chance at backing a winning horse.

1st

#6 Ava’s Delight ($6)

Darren Weir’s five-year-old is available at a good price for punters looking to back a winner in the Eliza Park International Stakes. She’ll get a good start after drawing barrier three with Michelle Payne to ride. Ava’s Delight has finished third in five of her last starts including the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes (1400m) last October. She just missed out on a placing her last time out in the Listed Tavern Stakes (1400m) after coming out her wide gate slowly. However she hit the line well after missing a run to come home a commendable fourth.

2nd

#2 Tango’s Daughter ($5)

The Mick Price-trained four-year-old is another well priced runner after a fast-finishing third in the Listed Hussler Stakes (1400m) her last time out, just a neck off the winner after getting swamped out wide. She also had a successful autumn racing season, winning three consecutive races including the Group 2 Queen Of The South (1600m) and Listed Nitschke Stakes (1400m). Will start midfield from barrier seven with Craig Newitt to ride.

3rd

#4 Suavito ($3.20)

Nigel Blackiston’s four-year-old is favourite for the Eliza Park International Stakes but is a bit of a risky bet. She won a mares handicap at Caulfield over 1400 metres in August, before coming second in another one month later. She was favourite for the Group 2 Blazer Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on October 4 but never left the gate. She returned two weeks later for a third placing in the Group 3 Ladies Day Vase (1600m) but is still considered dicey.
