22 fillies and mares have been nominated for the Listed Just Now Quality (1350m) at Doomben Racecourse this Saturday.

Headlining the nominations is the Rex Lipp-trained Tinto, who was runner-up in the Listed Travel Associates Classic (1200m) on Saturday. It was the mare’s first race of her campaign and though there was doubt she would sprint with the best of them after running in three races over 2000 metres during the winter, Tinto finished just half a length off winner Brook Road.

Kelly Schweida and Kelly Doughty share the second spot on the ballot with their nominated horses – Discreet and Little Brown Horse.

Discreet finished end of the field in the Travel Associates Classic, 11th of 16, but was only four and a half lengths off the winner while Little Brown Horse finished seventh – the first time he finished outside the placings in his last six starts.

In fact eight of the 16 runners from the 2014 Travel Associates Classic are backing up to the 2014 Just Now Quality.

Peter & Paul Snowden and Chris Waller are both hoping to deliver a dual-pronged attack on Saturday, nominating two horses for the race each.

Team Snowden will saddle Commanding Wit and Dublin Lass while Waller has nominated both Holy Delusions and Mamwaazel.

Five-year-old Commanding Wit is making the trip up from his home ground of Royal Randwick Racecourse, where he both won and placed second his last two times out while Dublin Lass has finished in the first two in her last four starts, which included winning both the NSW Racehorse Owners Association Handicap (1250m) and Ascend Sales Trophies Handicap (1300m).

Holy Delusions was runner-up to Dublin Lass last time out while Mamwaazel has missed out on a placing in all three of her starts this campaign.

The Robert Smerdon-trained Magic In Motion features among the nominations after winning the Class 6 Handicap (1350m) at Doomben on November 22 and Todd Austin’s Playtime is in form having finished first, second, third, and fourth in his last four starts, including a minor placing in the Travel Associates Classic.
