The Listed Daybreak Lover Stakes (1800m) has attracted a talented sixteen horse field to the Gold Coast tomorrow; offering punters exceptional value from a betting standpoint and several key opportunities to place a winning wager.
Bachman ($4.20) returned to competitive form at his most recent start and remains outright favourite in 2015 Daybreak Lover Stakes betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of No Tricks ($5.50) and Spur Le Jouer ($7).
Will return to the winner’s circle in the 2015 Daybreak Lover Stakes or will one of his talented rivals find the line in the clear?
1st
Bachman ($4.20)
Posting two wins and four minors through 13 career starts, Bachman is undoubtedly the class horse of the 2015 Daybreak Lover Stakes field and sure receive a good run from barrier 8 with last-start hoop Michael Cahill aboard. Running a credible third in the Group 3 Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m) on May 9th, the All American colt failed to get the distance when 13th in the Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes (2020m) but clearly relished a return to middle-distance racing when second in the Group 2 Queensland Guineas (1600m) a fortnight ago.
2nd
Rhodin Drive ($13)
Gold Coast local Rhodin Drive has found competitive form leading into the Daybreak Lover Stakes, is a proven performer over course and distance and is also positioned well for success in barrier 7. Taking out a Gold Coast minor over 1400m first-up in late April the Reset gelding was luckless in his two next starts but run on well for a credible third in the Cooney Handicap (1350m) at Ipswich last weekend. In-form hoop Jim Byrne will take the ride on Rhodin Drive in the Daybreak Lover Stakes and the three-year-old should have no issue with carrying 56kgs.
3rd
No Tricks ($5.50)
Kiwi import No Tricks has continued to cut into current $5.50 odds from an opening quote of $6 and will be tough to beat in the Daybreak Lover Stakes after drawing the ideal barrier 3 and being charged with carrying only 54.5kgs. Posting several impressive results in New Zealand, including success in the Listed Warstep Stakes (2000m) in April, the Savabeel filly has finished sixth in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2200m) and fourth in the Listed Ipswich Cup (2150m) at her two most recent starts but may be a little burnt out for success on her third-consecutive race weekend.
