Rosehill horseman Gary Moore will bypass Thursday’s Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic in favour of a home run with his up-and-comer All Too Huiying who is eyeing a Gold Coast Magic Millions Classic 2017 run next month.
The nicely-bred All Too Hard colt has had just the one run to date finishing second last when fifth in a two-years-old handicap over 1100m at Rosehill on December 10.
He was far from disgraced in that blanket finish however crossing under a length off the winner Chauffeur.
Moore originally looked at a run this week in the $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1100m), which offers the winner automatic entry into the $2 million Gold Coast edition on January 14.
The strength of the line-up at Wyong, which is headlined by current 2017 Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic betting favourite Madeenaty, sees Moore instead save All Too Huiying for a 1200m two-years-old plate at Rosehill on Saturday.
“I thought the Wyong race, not that mine is not a good two-year-old, looked fairly strong on paper,” Moore told AAP.
“So he’ll have a gallop on Wednesday and then run at Rosehill.
“If he wins on Saturday he’ll be aimed at the Magic Millions race at the Gold Coast.”
All Too Huiying’s last start conqueror, the Gerald Ryan-trained Snitzel colt Chauffeur is a $10 shot in all-in Magic Millions Classic odds for next month at Ladbrokes.com.au.
Moore’s hopeful meanwhile can be found further down the pre-field Magic Millions Gold Coast 2YO Classic betting markets at $31.
That price will firm if he can break his maiden status on the weekend, something Moore is confident he can do with a less forward ride than on debut when sent up front from a wide alley by hoop Blake Shinn.
“He’s a lot better horse ridden off the speed, not like the other day,” Moore said.
“We drew the outside gate and we spoke about it, Shinn and I, and we had no alternative but to ride him forward.
“He was gallant in defeat. He looked like he was going to win until the last 30 metres but his condition just gave out.
“Looking at his trial previously at Warwick Farm he came from off the speed and that’s how he’ll be ridden on Saturday.
“He’s impressed me greatly over the past few days and looks in great shape.”
