Winx Odds-On in George Ryder Stakes 2017 Betting

Chris Waller’s glamour mare Winx is already well into the red in pre-field 2017 George Ryder Stakes betting as she prepares to win her sixteenth consecutive race in the Group 1 at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

There are eleven early entries for the $1 million Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) this weekend, the world’s best horse on the turf Winx set to steal the spotlight away from the two-year-olds running in the Golden Slipper Stakes field.

The darling daughter of Street Cry is after an eleventh elite level trophy for the cabinet and back-to-back George Ryder Stakes title after winning the race off the exact same preparation last Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

Twelve months ago Winx handed Waller his fourth George Ryder Stakes victory in seven years saluting for the punters at $1.90 odds.

Before final acceptances have even closed she is now into $1.16 in the all-in George Ryder Stakes odds at Ladbrokes.com.au making her the shortest-priced favourites in the race’s history.

Winx will become the shortest-priced George Ryder Stakes favourite to salute in history if successful on Saturday

Currently the shortest-priced favourite to salute for the punters in the race is Pierro ($1.35 in 2013), a title Winx will take if successful on the weekend.

Winx is also out to make history as just the second mare to win two editions of the George Ryder Stakes along with Emancipation (1983-84).

The only other hope currently under $10 in George Ryder Stakes betting is the Hawkes Racing-trained Chautauqua.

The multiple Group 1 winning sprinter was last seen running second to Le Romain in the mud at Randwick on March 4 in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m).

Chautauqua could be seen extending out to 1600m in the Doncaster Mile 2017 during ‘The Championships’ if he presents well this weekend, the winner of nearly $6.7 million in prize money chasing his first win over further than 1400m.

The Canterbury Stakes winner Le Romain is then listed at $11 to complete the double last achieved by Pierro (2013), before the Darren Weir-trained CF Orr – Futurity Stakes double winner Black Hart Bart comes in at $15 for the upset.
