The David Vandyke-trained All Too Hard gelding dominates the all-in markets on the Gold Coast’s $2 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) on January 11 having won all but one of his seven career starts to date.

Alligator Blood atoned for his narrow second to Super Seth in the Group 1 $2 million Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas (1600m) in October returning to winning form first-up in Brisbane last Saturday.

The gun gelding powered home for a two-length win as the $1.45 favourite at Eagle Farm in the Listed Gold Edition Plate (1200m) and is likely to run second-up on December 28 back at the track in the Group 3 $300,000 Vo Rogue Plate (1400m).

The three-years-old set weights feature and key 2020 Magic Millions Guineas lead-up drew 13 early entries this week with Racing Queensland extending the Vo Rogue Plate nominations until Monday the 23rd.

Pre-field Vo Rogue Plate odds at leading online bookmaker Ladbrokes.com.au already have Alligator Blood at $1.80 for the win and $2.10 to take out the Magic Millions Guineas two weeks after that.

Last Queensland Summer Racing Carnival the Chris Munce-trained Boomsara completed the Vo Rogue Plate – Magic Millions 3YO Guineas double and all the money is on Alligator Blood to repeat the feat 12 months on.

Occupying the second line of the futures Vo Rogue Plate betting markets at $4.50 is the flying Dawn Approach gelding Diamond Thunder from the in-form Sydney stables of Mark Newnham.

The wins keep coming for Newnham this spring – summer racing carnival including with Diamond Thunder last start with the galloper winning the Wyong Magic Millions 3YO & 4YO Stakes (1200m) on December 12.

Also being kept safe in all-in Vo Rogue Plate odds are the Tony & Clavin McEvoy-trained Wandjina filly Grand Scholar ($5.50) and Profit ($7.50) from the local stables of Chris Anderson.

Grand Scholar chases a fourth straight win following a nice lead-up campaign in Melbourne that included victories at Cranbourne and The Valley.

Her latest was a six-length romp home in a Fillies & Mares BM70 over 1200m at Moonee Valley on December 6, her third victory on the trot since the unplaced Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) run in the winter at Eagle Farm.

Profit is a three-year-old son of Dundeel who is another last start winner having saluted over 1800m at Eagle Farm in early October.

He has been kept fit with back-to-back winning trial wins at Doomben ahead of the Vo Rogue Plate where he will look to add to his impressive record at the track.

In total there are five fillies nominated to take on the colts and geldings in this summer’s Vo Rogue Plate with Madotti (2015) the last to beat home the boys in the end of year feature.

After Grand Scholar the other most notable filly in the mix is the Bjorn Baker-trained Let It Pour, the daughter of Redoute’s Choice still a maiden after seven career starts.

She has been placed four times in Black-Type company however including a Group 2 third on debut in this year’s Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) and her back-to-back Group 2 thirds at Randwick over the spring in the Silver Shadow and Furious Stakes.
