The rescheduled 2021 Golden Slipper Day card takes place at Rosehill Gardens today, Saturday the 27th of March, after last weekend’s washout and below we take a look at the latest track report and scratchings in Sydney.

The weather in Sydney has finally cleared after last week’s torrential rainfall that saw the Rosehill track go past a Heavy (10) rating and declared unfit for racing.
For Golden Slipper Day 2.0 the track has dried out to a Soft (7) and without clear skies forecast all day, there could even be an improvement to the current Rosehill track rating before the marquee race this afternoon.
Rosehill racing gets underway at 12:30pm (AEDT) with the three-year-old sprinters facing off in the Listed Darby Munro Stakes, and the nine-race card continues through until the fillies and mares do battle in the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes (1200m) at 5:50pm (AEDT).
It’s an absolutely enormous meeting with five Group 1 races on the card starting with the 2021 Ranvet Stakes (Race 4) where UK raider Addeybb and Verry Elleegant renew their rivalry after running one-two in this race and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes last autumn.
The three-year-old staying types are next-up in the 2021 Rosehill Guineas (Race 5) where Mo’unga is tipped to turn the tables on Lion’s Roar after their quinella in the Randwick Guineas last start.
The Rosehill Guineas field is down to 14 runners after the early withdrawal of the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained Explosive Jack (13), set to run in the St. Leger Trial in Bendigo today instead.
Next-up is the 2021 George Ryder Stakes (Race 6), a race made famous by four-time champion Winx (2016-19), and that features three of her stablemates this season led by the rails-drawn Funstar.
The feature race is of course the world’s richest event for juveniles, the coveted $3.5 million Golden Slipper Stakes where 15 two-year-olds remain in contention after the withdrawal of the Waller-trained O’President (8) earlier in the week due to an elevated temperature.
The updated Golden Slipper 2021 odds at Ladbrokes.com.au are dominated by Profiteer who is out to atone for his last start second when over-racing in the Todman Stakes.
The final Group 1 on the program sees the sprinters face off in The Galaxy 2021 (Race 8) over 1100m and the 14-horse line-up is led in betting by Godolphin’s flying mare Tailleur carrying just 51kg.
She scratched out from the card-closer – the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes – in favour of this tougher assignment and will take some beating right down in the weights.
