The Group 1 $5 million Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) headlines a bumper Rosehill race card on Saturday and Races.com.au have you covered with expert tips and Golden Slipper best bets for the weekend!
There is a full field of gun two-year-olds in the mix for Rosehill Race 8 at 4:35pm (AEDT), and James Cummings‘ Reisling Stakes winning filly Tempted is current favourite at $5 through Ladbrokes.com.au after coming up trumps with barrier one.
So, can Cummings secure his second Golden Slipper success after his 2019 win with the filly Kiamichi, or is an upset pending from the likes of Chris Waller’s one-time favourite Wodeton ($5.50) who James McDonald sticks with, or the unbeaten Kris Lees trained Rivellino chasing a fourth win on the trot?
Check out our insider Golden Slipper Stakes tips and best bets below for the juveniles to back and sack!
The Favourite: #13 Tempted ($5 at time of publish) – BET NOW

Easy to see why the punters have this classy chestnut on top of the markets.
The Street Boss filly has her fourth start here and brings in the confidence of a last start Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) win at Randwick from March 8. Estijaab (2018) was the last to do the Reisling/Slipper double and this 2YO ticks plenty of boxes to be the next.
She’s drawn for success with the coveted inside alley that recently produced back-to-back Slipper champs with Fireburn (2022) and Shinzo (2023). Jockey Blake Shinn has the ride for the first time with J-Mac engaged on Wodeton, but Shinn is a two-time Slipper winning hoop including on Lady Of Camelot last year so he is a very hood replacement.
The speed is set to be on in the Slipper this year and that suits Tempted to a tee. She was second in the Widden Stakes here by the barest of margins first-up at the start of February following a winning debut back in December at Warwick Farm with 58kg.
Handles Rosehill, proven at the six-furlongs now, and is Group 1 performed with her Blue Diamond seventh in Melbourne two back giving her some more fitness miles.
Will be right there in the finish!
Best Bet: #7 Skyhook ($7 at time of publish) – BET NOW

Crack field of two-year-olds in another ripping edition of the Golden Slipper with plenty of form lines to consider.
Have landed on the in-form and progressive Skyhook who is on the quick back-up after his demolition job in the Group 3 Pago Pago here at Rosehill last weekend.
He won that eleventh hour lead-up at the Slipper track and trip by over three lengths and is firing on all cylinders now. Only 2 horses in the past 20 years have done the Pago / Slipper double with Stratum (2005) and Shinzo (2023) but this nicely bred Written Tycoon colt ticks all the boxes to be the next.
He’s got options from a nice mid-field gate eight draw in the Group 1 this weekend with Kerrin McEvoy, who won this race on the great Sepoy back in 2011, continuing associations.
At a nice price, speed map suits, and if he handles the back-up he can win.
The Value: #12 Within The Law ($13 at time of publish) – BET NOW

Lots of double-figure Slipper contenders that can go close and surprise but Within The Law stands out for mine for Sydney’s Bjorn Baker who is chasing his first victory.
The Lucky Vega filly has been ultra-consistent so far doing nothing wrong in her four runs to record a trio of wins and a second placing.
She was a winner at Flemington on debut during the Melbourne Cup Carnival so should handle the big crowds on Slipper Day, and that is important with these 2YOs that can be spooked. Won again over the 1000m at Randwick in mid-December to keep that confidence growing before her second only a half-length off Rivellino in the $2 million Inglis Millennium to get her autumn underway in style.
That form has held with the winner going on to claim the Skyline Stakes and this filly subsequently returning to winning form in the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) at the start of the month.
There was nothing to spare on the line but she’s a winner at the 1200m now, Jason Collett stays in the saddle, and she can handle the wide draw to challenge!
