The 2020 Caulfield Cup results saw the Chris Waller-trained mare Verry Elleegant ($5F) become the third favourite since 2007 to salute. Celebrating her sixth Group 1 success, the daughter of Zed was the 22nd Caulfield Cup winning mare backing-up from her lead-up Turnbull Stakes victory to defeat the Aidan O’Brien-trained Irish raider Anthony Van Dyck ($6).
The Caulfield Cup 2020 trifecta was completed by The Chosen One ($61) who ran out of his skin for third at big odds.
The 2020 Caulfield Cup winner Verry Elleegant gave her trainer and jockey (Mark Zahra) both their first victories in the mile and a half classic.
