2011 Rubiton Stakes Betting Offers “Reward For Effort”

Reward For Effort has certainly provided trainer Peter Moody plenty of rewards over his career with nearly a million dollars of prize money amassed.

The stallion is coming off a long spell with his scheduled lead up race at Caulfield abandoned earlier in the month.

He was spelled after a very poor Moonee Valley run when he fell back to finish seventh of the eight competitors.

Previous to that he ran third at Moonee Valley after winning at Rosehill Gardens.

His overall record sits at eight races with four wins and two placings, which has offered a fair bit of confidence to the betting markets. At current fixed price odds on Luxbet Reward For Effort is steady at $6, just two points adrift of current favourite Catapulted.

The distance will certainly suit him given from his three starts at 1100m he’s won twice and placed the third time. The track rating may be a question with just the one start, although he did place on that occasion.

The jockey on board Reward For Effort in the Rubiton Stakes will be B.J Melham and he’ll carry 57kgs. It wasn’t an ideal barrier draw for connections and the stallion will have to push across from the wide barrier nine.

He’s certainly worth consideration though as he’s mixed it up with some of Australia’s best sprinters including champion Hay List.
