Aside from all the exciting Group racing action happening in Melbourne this Saturday, Sydney?s Rosehill Racecourse is also gearing up to host one of the country?s best group races, the $250, 000 Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m).
The Apollo Stakes will be a hotly contested affair as 13 of the best middle distance runners line up in race six at the meeting.
Exciting early prospects to take out the 2010 Apollo Stakes include the Chris Waller-trained Rangirangdoo. The impressive Group 2 Expressway Stakes winner has drawn ideally with barrier one.
Other top picks include South Australian stayer Alcopop in his maiden run at Sydney. The five-year-old trained by Jake Stephens, who placed a solid sixth in last year?s Melbourne Cup after starting as the favourite, will jump from barrier 12.
Also keep an eye on classy mares Purple, trained by Peter Snowden, and Grahame Begg?s Palacio De Cristal starting from barriers six and three respectively.
