The Darren Weir-trained Kenjorwood is set to carry top weight in Sunday’s Kilmore Cup 2016 field in inland Victoria as he looks for his first win since the winter.

A seven-year-old son of Snippetson, Kenjorwood is one of a capacity field of milers engaged in this year’s $130,000 Listed Kilmore Cup (1600m) which runs one day after the 2016 Ballarat Cup over a top weekend of country cups racing.
Brad Rawiller rides the 60kg top weight who is at the track for the first time, the galloper out to atone for his 10th of 11 runners behind Rageese in the Group 3 Chatham Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Emirates Stakes Day.
He rises from 56.6kg that run when jumping a $41 in betting, but over more meters should be returning to more competitive form even under the hefty kilos.
Also high up the Kilmore Cup field and weights are Mihany (57kg) and Dylanson (56kg) both coming off a last start victory.
Lindsay Park’s Redoute’s Choice five-year-old Mihany took out a mile race at Flemington on Oaks Day by an impressive 3.25 lengths carrying 58kg.
He gets the same distance here and boasts a top record of four wins from nine starts at 1600m.
While rising to stakes’ class for the first time since 2014, the gelding is sure to be kept safe in Kilmore Cup betting at Ladbrokes.com.au after his effort last time out.
Mihany is drawn wide out in barrier 14, possibly 12 if the second emergency Sharalam (8) comes out.
The first emergency Amarela for Nigel Blackiston has already gained a start from the outside alley after the early scratching of the Robert Hickmott-trained Nevis (3).
The rails run meanwhile belongs to the Phillip Stokes-trained Dylanson who has Noel Callow booked for the ride.
Callow is the sixth hoop in as many starts to jump aboard the Dylan Thomas seven-year-old from Adelaide whose last run on November 5 at home produced a win in a Benchmark 90 over the mile.
Also coming off a win and both looking to extend their winning streaks to three on the trot are the Matt Laurie-trained Master Reset and The Chairman for Mick Price.
Reset gelding Master Reset saluted at Moonee Valley defeating subsequent Group 3 winner Rageese on Cox Plate Eve before a mile win at Mornington by over three lengths on October 30.
He’s been freshened-up since, has previous winning form at the Kilmore track and drops from 57kg to Sunday’s 54kg minimum.
The Chairman is also well weighted on 54kg and draw well in barrier 7 (into 6) with Dom Tourneur riding the son of High Chaparral for the second time of the trot.
Two back Michael Dee had the winning ride over the Bendigo Mile, before Tourneur replaced him at Flemington on November 3 for a victory over 1800m defeating Cool Chap.
Other notable hopes include Mabeel and Petrology who ran second and third over the Flemington mile respectively last time out, and the imported Michael Kent-trained runner-up to Mater Reset last start Coldstone.
