The James Cummings-trained Anamoe ($2.40F) proved his championship status saluting for the punters in the 100th edition of the Ladbrokes Cox Plate 2022 off a brilliant James McDonald ride.
After running one off the fence in fourth throughout, Anamoe powered home over the final furlong to post his fifth Group 1 win from as many starts this campaign and defeat the always-honest I’m Thunderstruck. Chris Waller’s import El Bodegon ran a terrific first-up run down under in third, while the pacemaker Zaaki held for fourth.
